We rebuilt Otak.com to help people find the content that matters to them, faster and with less friction. The update focused on improving the way project and team information is discovered and experienced, while giving our work the attention it deserves with stronger emphasis on big, bold project photography. Behind the scenes, we also made the site more flexible and consistent, so our content can grow and evolve with us.
This effort began with the foundational step of defining our firm’s areas of expertise. A series of in-depth meetings with our team leads – combined with SEO keyword research – helped define the tiered site structure and comprehensive expertise page content that exists today. Based on this expertise, a new taxonomy of site content was developed to update site navigation, streamline site search functionality, and ultimately open the doors to more personalized user journeys.
The refresh resulted in a website that’s more visual, engaging, and intuitive to use. It creates a better experience for visitors while helping clearly establish Otak’s expertise across our lines of work. At the same time, the improvements make the site more discoverable, usable, and valuable as a tool our teams can rely on.
